- 100% horse leather. Sourced in Europe (Italy, Poland, France) as a by-product of the meat industry, then vegetable-tanned by Shinki Leather in Himeji, Japan. Tanned using a traditional method, in which hides are soaked for extended periods in deep pits filled with natural tannins, such as mimosa bark. Once tanned the leather is dried, cured, and hand finished, revealing softness and supple grain. Naturally thick and rigid, horse leather is highly durable and smooth to touch.
