- 100% organic cotton denim. Woven in Hiroshima, this denim is dyed in Okayama using a proprietary blend of two traditional earth-mineral pigments: Yellow Bengara and Red Bengara. Bengara was historically produced as a by–product of copper mining in Fukiya Village, Takahashi. In recent times, the pigment is imported from India where it has been used in dying for thousands of years. The combination of these yellow and red pigments creates a unique earthy hue with natural tonal complexity. The fabric is then enzyme bio-washed to smoothen the surface.
